Gary Parsons’ primary responsibility is management and care of the A.J. Cook Arthropod Research Collection. His collection duties include curation of the collection, creating and maintaining databases of the holdings, processing loans, working with the adjunct volunteer curators and student volunteers, leading tours of the collection for guests and visitors and assisting with identifications for faculty and student research. He teaches the course on immature insect taxonomy and assists with teaching the adult insect taxonomy course. He is also active in many of the department outreach programs, including serving as the advisor for the creation of displays and care of the live animals in the Bug House.
