    Congratulations to Jim Smith, one of two MSU faculty elected an AAAS Fellow for 2017 by the American Association for the Advancement of Science. This national recognition is awarded to researchers for their efforts to advance science or its applications.

    Did participation in a student club enhance your MSU experience? This year’s #GivingTUEsday campaign in the college is to raise $5,000 to support Student Club Grants through the CANR Alumni Association.

    This fund provides support for scholarships, student club activities and alumni programming in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR). The fund also underwrites the CANR Alumni Association’s Student Club Grant Program.

    MSU Entomology’s Bill Ravlin‘s photographs were featured on the cover and month of August in a calendar given out to nearly 7,000 attendees of the International Congress of Entomology meeting, hosted by Entomological Society of America.

    On Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing, MSU will host A Pollination Forum to present the latest information on issues facing bees and the solutions being developed to support crop pollination.

    The National Science Foundation is funding a $3.2 million effort to digitize millions of butterfly and moth specimens within the Lepidoptera of the North American Network. The grant was awarded to 27 U.S. institutes including the A.J. Cook Arthropod Research Collection (ARC) at MSU.

    Vegetable entomologist Zsofia Szendrei is leading a team of researchers to develop new tools to help organic cucurbit growers address their most pressing needs with a nearly $1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute for Food and Agriculture.
