
McCullough works closely with natural resource agencies and Christmas
tree
growers to identify impacts, contributing factors, and mitigation strategies
associated with damaging forest insect populations. Research interests
include
effects of environmental variables on tree growth, allocation and resistance
to
insects, impacts of disturbance on forest insect diversity and community
structure, and relations between forest defoliators and nutrient cycling.
She is also involved in development of decision support systems to enhance
management of forest pests.

Al assists property owners and residents in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with their Gypsy Moth related questions and concerns.

Lintemuth has been with the Gypsy Moth Education program for ten years
and was involved in the recent move to expand to other exotic forest
pests. Manning the Mt. Pleasant office of the program, Lintemuth is
available to answer questions, refer callers or visitors to sources
of further information, or provide printed materials. He keeps up on
happenings throughout the state with forest pests and suppression efforts
and works to help have printed materials available. He is more than
willing to help with community talks, homeowner questions, or accessing
printed materials through the MSU Extension system. He can be reached
at (989) 772-2243 at the program offices at 200 N. Main in Mt. Pleasant,
located on the third floor of the Isabella County Building.
