People continue to be enthusiastic about meeting the bugs at Entomology’s Bug House, reports Gary Parsons, the program and facility director. Tours and events reached over 9,700 people in 2016!

The MSU Bug House held its Holiday Open House on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, where over 230 visitors interacted with the live and displayed insects and stopped by for educational activities in the classroom next door. The crowd was an all-time high attendance for the Holiday Open House.

The Bug House had its annual Halloween Open House Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, and despite the weather being damp and cool, approximately 120 visitors attended.

As part of Be a Tourist in Your Own Town, the Department of Entomology’s Bug House will host a free open house from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015. In addition to viewing the amazing, colorful pinned displays, kids and adults can get up close and personal with a whole room of awesome insects, including handling a few of the larger species!

Join us at the Bug House for our annual MSU Science Festival Open Houses, April 18, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and April 19, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in rooms 146-147 of the Natural Science Building.Observe our collection of live insects and learn about current projects going on in the Department of Entomology. This event is FREE and fun for all ages!

Come celebrate National Pollinator Week at the third annual MSU Bee Palooza. While on campus, stop by the MSU Bug House for an open house! Both events are free and a great family opportunity for bug fans.

The Bug House was quite a hit at the 2014 Be a Tourist in Your Own Town event, with almost 900 people coming through the Bug House on Saturday, May 31, 2014!
