The Department of Entomology offers a number of educational programs for students and teachers designed to stimulate interest in insects and the world of science.

The Bug House is an exploration of the fascinating world of insects. A huge exhibit of pinned specimens is just a prelude to the excellent collection of live insects, including Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches, Red-Kneed Tarantulas and other interesting creepy crawlies. Insect World Science Camp is a four day camp for kids 9-12 years of age that focuses on exploring and studying insects in their natural environment. Kids stay on campus in dorms and are taught by science majors who are excited about sharing their experiences. A copy of the brochure and an application is available here (.pdf). Bug Camp is a special 1/2-day science program for young children beginning their discovery of the insect world. Programs are designed for 6-8 years and 9-11 year olds.
