Eleven new graduate students were welcomed into the Department of Entomology at a pizza lunch on August 23. Students, staff and faculty mingled with the new students who bring our current graduate student count up to 43. View more images from the mixer.

 

 

Joy Landis is the 2011-12 chair of the university’s Academic Specialist Advisory Committee (ASAC). ASAC is part of the university’s academic governance that reports to Terry Curry, associate provost and associate vice-president of academic human resources. The committee meets with administrators to discuss employee issues such as recommendations for professional development, salary adjustments, changes in benefits and the overall fiscal health of the university.

Did you see Entomology’s booth at the MSU’s 2010 AutummFest? We’ve just learned that the booth received the People’s Choice Award at the event. Specimens from the Bug House were hot items. Thanks to Rachel Olson and Emily Campbell for staffing the booth!
