Dr. Robert Hollingworth

Dr. Hollingworth’s research interests focus on the mechanisms of action and metabolism of pesticides, both natural and man-made. The importance of these processes in pesticide resistance and resistance management are a major topic of interest. Recent research has focused on the effects of newer pesticides on mitochondrial metabolism and bioenergetics, but neurotoxic effects continue to be of long-term interest and he has a keen interest in the area of pesticide regulation and risk assessment. He is also the Director of the NC IR-4 Program and Chair of the IR-4 Project Management Committee.
