Dr. Edward J. Grafius
Dr. Grafius is involved in research and extension in vegetable insect pest management including management of Colorado potato beetle, onion maggot, aster leafhopper and onion thrips. Projects include biological control, host plant resistance, IPM and insecticide resistance management and monitoring. International activities include cooperative research with the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences and the Agricultural Research Center, Roodeplaat, South Africa, to develop potatoes resistant to potato tuberworm. He also teaches a scientific writing workshop where graduate students use their own data and, step-by-step, write a scientific journal article, thesis or dissertation chapter.
