| The Entomology Department honored one of its former chairs, Dr. Mark Scriber, on September 10 at the MSU Kellogg Center. Scriber served as chair 1987-1997 and is retiring this fall. His international reputation derives from his passion for studying, documenting and publishing how the genetics, morphology, physiology and behavior of the various North American lineages of swallowtail butterflies have diverged in the face of shifts in host plants, geography and climate. Many good stories were shared by Mark’s former students and children about collecting butterflies with him, while faculty noted his administrative successes. |
